Materialise kauft orthopädische Softwarefirma OrthoView

Materialise hat gestern den Kauf des britischen Herstellers für präoperative orthopädische Planungssoftware verkündet. OrthoView ging für die Summe von £ 8,47 Millionen (€ 10,72 Millionen) an den belgischen 3D-Druck Dienstleister und Softwareanbieter. 

OrthoView hat sich auf die 2D Planung von orthopädischen Operationen spezialisiert. Die Software des Unternehmens importiert digitale Röntgenaufnahmen und ermöglicht das positionieren von Schablonen passender Prothesen im richtigen Größenverhältnis. OrthoView wird derzeit weltweit von mehr als 11.000 orthopädischen Chirurgen, hauptsächlich für künstlichen Gelenksersatz, eingesetzt. Die derzeit 23 Mitarbeiter sollen von Materialise übernommen werden.

Erst kürzlich hat Materialise seine X-Ray Knee Guide Solution vorgestellt, die eine 3D OP-Planung anhand von 2D Röntgenbildern ermöglicht.
