Addendum Auto – Marktplatz für Auto-Ersatzteile auf Indiegogo

Der Amerikaner, Landon Crist startet eine Indiegogo Kampagne für einen Marktplatz rund um Ersatzteile für Autos.

Landon wuchs neben einer Autowerkstätte auf und spielte schon in jungen Jahren mit alten Teilen der Werkstatt. Im May machte er seinen Abschluss auf der Appalchian State University und möchte nun seinen Traum mit Hilfe von 3D-Druck verwirklichen.

Mit seiner Indiegogo Kampagne will er einen Marktplatz für Ersatzteile und exklusive Erweiterungen, wie einen besondere Schaltknäufe, speziell für die Autos starten. Über diesen online Marktplatz werden 3D-Modelle von Autoteilen angeboten. Das gekaufte Design druckt man sich einfach zuhause mit dem eigenen 3D-Drucker aus.

Die Kampagne läuft noch bis 28. Juli 2014 und soll 250.000$ einbringen.

We want to create an online marketplace where consumers can buy and print auto parts in there own home for a fraction of the cost charged by traditional stores.

The possibilities for 3D printing are truly endless. If you haven’t seen or heard of this new technology yet please Google it. This new way of manufacturing things will change the way you think about everyday products. While combining my love for cars and this new technology, I stumbled upon an opportunity. I want to create an online marketplace that will allow customers to buy a digital image of the automotive part needed, download it, and print it out on their own 3D printer. This will provide the customer a more hands on approach to fixing there cars for cheaper. The technology will also open doors into the auto body business that hasn’t seen drastic change in awhile. I envision a day when your car is wrecked, and the crash data is sent to a body shop and they already have the parts printed before the car arrives. No more waiting for weeks to get your car back because the parts haven’t shipped yet. Insurance companies will love this idea as well. Think of the money they will save by the lower cost of fixing cars. Some of that money will end up back in your pocket because premiums will be lowered. We also want to give you a new way to customize your car by giving you the opportunity to design and print your own unique parts. Print that cool shift knob or car emblem that no one else can even buy.
