3D Systems schliesst Partnerschaft mit Samsung und Intel

3D Systems überstrahlt derzeit die CES 2014 mit einer Vielzahl von Ankündigungen und neuen Produkten. Nun wurde auch eine Partnerschaft mit Samsung und Intel angekündigt.

3D Systems möchte gemeinsam mit dem Chip Hersteller Intel eine neue SDK für ein einfacheres implementieren von 3D Funktionen in Intel Prozessoren entwickeln. Intel möchte weiters mit Intel RealSense eine neue Serie an Hardware und Software Produkte auf den Markt bringen. Die RealSense Technologie besteht aus einen 1080p farb 3D Tiefenkamera die neben Gesten auch den Gesichtsausdrucke und so die Emotionen seiner Nutzer erkennen soll. Auch das 3D Scannen von Objekten soll so möglich sein. Die Kamera könnte in künftigen Generationen von Notebooks verbaut werden

ROCK HILL, South Carolina –January 6, 2014 – 3D Systems  (NYSE:DDD) announced today a collaboration with Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) to mainstream the adoption of 3D scanning and 3D printing. 3DS will make available its consumer Sense™ scanning, editing and 3D printing software applications for Intel-powered Ultrabook, 2 in 1, AIO and tablet devices equipped with the new Intel 3D camera during the second half of 2014. Additionally, 3DS plans to make its 3D scanning technology available to developers as part of Intel’s SDK to make it significantly easier to implement advanced depth sensing capabilities to all kinds of applications.

Im Zuge einer Partnerschaft mit Samsung bietet 3D Systems weiters druckbare Münzen für das Samsung Galaxy Note an. Kunden können eigene Münzen kreieren und in die Schutzhülle des entsprechenden Samsung Smartphone/Tablet tecken.

3D Systems kündigte im Zuge der CES mit dem Cube 3, dem Cube Pro neue Consumer 3D-Drucker an, stieg mit der ChefJet Serie in den Lebensmittelbereich ein, erweiterte mit CeraJet seinen Keramikbereich, erweiterte sein Portfolio mit iSense um einen neuen 3D Scanner, mit 3D Photobooth um eine neue 3D Fotokabine und mit Haptic 3D Mouse sein Consumer Angebot um eine 3D-Maus. Zusätzlich kündigte das Unternehmen mit CubeJet einen Full Color 3D Drucker um unter $5000 an und schloss eine Partnerschaft mit Intel und Samsung ab.
